Country name: Lesotho
Sub-region: Afrique Australe
Lesotho is often referred to as the “Kingdom in the sky” because of its high altitude, it is the only country in the world to be entirely above 1000m. Lesotho is completely surrounded by South Africa and is a fantastic destination. One of the few African countries that offer snow. Lesotho has a natural beauty to visitors with no accessible terrain and a rich local and traditional culture. A visitor to Lesotho can choose to stay in a “bed & breakfast” at the hotel in the capital, Maseru, or choose to live an adventure in harmony with nature and find a cottage or self catering accommodation in the highlands of the country, completely nestled in the beautiful mountains and in a peaceful environment. All Lesotho’s regions deserve attention, be it river banks, mountain slopes, and regions located in high altitude.

Editor’s words We like Lesotho because of his landlocked side with its small size and its major tourist attractions. With its 3,482 m Thabana Ntlentyana, Lesotho is the summit of Southern Africa.
