We love our traveling community here at Visiter l’Afrique and love introducing you all to each other even more! Meet Samson and discover his passion for innovative agriculture!
So tell us a bit about yourself.
I am Samson Ogbole, co-founder PS Nutraceuticals International Limited. I am a firm believer in the agricultural future of the nation as a foundation for nation building and development of character . I am into innovative thinking directed towards finding new ways to ensure agriculture is the future. Nigerians are opening up to soilless growing, getting to understand the importance of technology and automation. The company is less than 2 years with a staff of 12.
Where are you now and how long have you been there?
I move between Lagos and Abeokuta regularly.
Can you tell us about your journey on agriculture, what do you specialize in?
It started in 2013 with trying to grow yam without soil, then gradually I started trying with more crops, modifying systems to be cheaper and easier to use. With over 200 crops successfully grown, there is still much more to be done. My specialty is automation and technology in agriculture. As of today, soilless growing is taking root gradually in Nigeria. In the future I hope to work with my robotic engineer friends as we try to develop robots for our farming activities. We are about to introduce sensor smart systems facilitate communication between farmers and planters.
Do you host any workshops and events?
Yes we do, we hold smart farm seminars which are usually free.
Do you get to travel often both inside and outside of your country? If yes, how do you do it?
Yes I do and the next destination should either be the US or UK or Senegal, depending on how my plans work out. As for within the nation, traveling is the norm; in the past one week I have been to Minna (Niger state) and Abuja.
I travel either by road or by air depending on the distance as well as if I have things to do on the way.
