For me, IYA BUEA, is a place to have fine dining for African/cameroonian cuisine. The vibe is good and the price is good too compare to Douala or Yaoundé. As a Cameroonian, i love eating there because IYA Buea knows how to pay homage to Cameroon’s rich & diverse gastronomy and cultural heritage. They serve a seasonal menu with a focus on local produce, high quality ingredients and Cameroonian flavours. The decoration of the restaurant and the location are amazing. You just want to take everything and go.
The Restaurant IYA is located in Buea. The town is located 80 km from Douala that is less than 1h 30 of road in direction of Limbé (seaside town). Buea is also the city that houses Mount cameroon main attraction of the country.
Last week-end when i went there i took Mafé, known in English as groundnut stew, is an iconic African dish, popular throughout West Africa. My friend, Yinka, took Ndolè, a traditional Cameroonian dish. You can’t come in Cameroon without tasting Ndolè. You can have a look on the menu HERE. The restaurant is open 6 days a week, from monday to saturday (11am-11pm). You can orgaize a private event too.
