Angola is bordered by Namibia to the south, Zambia and the Republic of Congo to the east and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the north. Tourism in Angola is based on the natural beauty of the country and its practice is relatively new. The country has some of the largest protected national parks in the world, an incredible range of cultures, climates and landscapes. Its tropical forests, mountains, plunging waterfalls and winding rivers, deserts and sandy beaches are the main attractions of the country. However, the urban environment in Angola is no exception. In Luanda, beautiful churches and cathedrals of colonial architecture blend in with modern skyscrapers. The nightlife in the capital has a wild Brazilian flavor, illustrating the historical ties of the country. The multitude of bars, restaurants and nightclubs show how much Angolans love to party.
